Minor setback

Luckily, not one that will hinder my writing come Sunday. On Tuesday I was in my World Dance class when my teacher offered we work on acrobatics. Feeling confident, I decided I would go all out in my tricks. She showed us a combination that started with a simple roll. I carelessly placed my head and knee in the exact same line of motion, and my knee colided with my nose. It bled and swelled, but luckily is not broken. It is still very painful to touch or move in any way though, so I can't make faces or show an excess of emotion (Also, I apologize for any incorrect grammar - it's late at night and I don't feel like going back and checking anything). Thank goodness I didn't cause any other bodily harm, and I won't have to worry about starting to write Sunday. Which, by the way, is coming up much faster than I realized! I can't believe it's so close now. I would write more, but I han hardly keep my eyes open and I'd like to get some rest.

Let's Go, NaNoWriMo

Well, I got all my planning done today. I can't believe it! It's funny the times when inspiration comes to you. I have my world building done, a basic paragraph about my plot, and a list of characters - I'm ready to roll!

I recently discovered (or, should I say, re-discovered) the pain that is finding appropriate character names. It's absolutely fantastic when names just come to you, but when they don't, finding the right one takes so long! I have come to affectionately call my MFC simply (3). It's time like these that I'm thankful for the internet - especially for such sites as behindthename.com and, more importantly, nanowrimo.org. If you are like me, you might want to check out this thread I started recently here. It got a lot of turnout I wasn't expecting! There are some great ways to come up with names throughout.

Until next time!

World Building

My creative moments come in spurts, as I'm sure is true for most, so I will have times when I can't stop writing and times when I can't even think about picking up a pen. Fortunately (and in other ways unfortunately, because I have other duties to concentrate on) now is one of those times I can't stop writing - and it seems I might actually be able to finish all my world building and story planning before November. As exciting as that is, I really need to concentrate on my plot, because it's not as fleshed out as I want it to be. I'll update once I finish getting all my thoughts coherently on the page!

NaNoWriMo

Well, here I am. Despite having an account for more than a month or so, I have let it sit here and rot this entire time, completely untouched. Now November is drawing closer, and of course, NaNoWriMo (nanowrimo.org)! I've been slaving for the entirety of October, and quite a bit even before that, preparing what is turning out to be the most complicated story I have ever written. I have pages of world building, and it's nowhere near as detailed as I wanted it to be! Stay tuned for updates on the story and the world of Arden!
